Vision
Globally recognized.
Locally relevant.
Grina Foundation is a centre of opportunity for climate action and financing in Tanzania. We bring people, ideas and resources together to build a greener, more resilient future. Through Enterprise Support & Investment, Local Action & Advocacy, and the Tanzania Green Summit, we help green businesses grow, support communities to shape and deliver local solutions, and convene partners to turn shared climate ambitions into action.

Closing the gap.
Opening opportunity.
Tanzania has green entrepreneurs with practical solutions, communities with valuable local knowledge, and institutions committed to climate action. Yet businesses often lack the support and finance to grow, community priorities need a stronger voice, and potential partners need spaces to connect and act together.
Grina Foundation was created to bring these efforts together. Our three programmes connect business growth, community action and collaboration so that climate ambitions can become practical solutions and lasting opportunities.
Through Enterprise Support & Investment, we help green entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses, become investment-ready and connect with finance, knowledge, markets and partners.
Through Local Action & Advocacy, we work with communities and local stakeholders to identify climate priorities, develop practical solutions and bring local experience into the decisions that shape their future.
Through the Tanzania Green Summit and its Business Deal Room, we bring enterprises, financiers, policymakers, communities and other partners together to exchange knowledge, build partnerships and move opportunities forward.
These programmes reinforce one another: local priorities inform our work, enterprise support helps solutions grow, and the Summit creates connections that support both business development and action on the ground.
Our guiding principle is simple: globally recognized, locally relevant. We connect international knowledge, standards and capital with Tanzania’s own realities, keeping its people and priorities at the centre of climate action.
Connected to global opportunity.
Built on Tanzania’s realities.
A shared ambition.
A practical purpose.
Climate action works best when it is connected to international standards and capital, and built on Tanzania’s own realities, people and priorities.
Mission
Connecting people.
Turning ideas into action.
To connect green enterprises to finance, convene the people who shape climate action, and stand with communities as they build local solutions.
What guides
our work.
Five commitments that shape how we work with enterprises, partners and communities.
Local relevance
Solutions must fit Tanzania’s realities: globally informed, locally grounded.
Opportunity for all
We make room for youth, early-stage businesses and communities often left out of climate finance conversations.
Partnership
Climate action is a shared effort. We build with others, not alone.
Integrity
We are honest about what we can deliver and transparent with our partners and communities.
Practical impact
We measure success by deals made, businesses grown and results on the ground.
Six sectors.
Real opportunity.
Six sectors where climate solutions meet real market opportunity.
The people behind
practical action.
